וַיִּקַּ֣ח אֶת־שָׂרֵ֣י הַ֠מֵּאוֹת וְאֶת־הַכָּרִ֨י וְאֶת־הָרָצִ֜ים וְאֵ֣ת ׀ כָּל־עַ֣ם הָאָ֗רֶץ וַיֹּרִ֤ידוּ אֶת־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה וַיָּב֛וֹאוּ דֶּֽרֶך־שַׁ֥עַר הָרָצִ֖ים בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב עַל־כִּסֵּ֥א הַמְּלָכִֽים׃
Poczem wziął setników i karejczyków i gońców i wszystek lud pospolity, i sprowadzili króla z przybytku Wiekuistego, i poszli drogą bramy gońców do pałacu królewskiego, i zasiadł na stolicy królów.
Rashi on II Kings
They came by way of the Gate of the Runners. To the king’s palace.25Literally the verse reads “by way of the Gate of the Runners of the king’s palace.” However, Rashi in v. 5 above explained that the Gate of the Runners was one of the gates of the Temple’s court. Therefore Rashi renders the verse as, “by way of the Gate of the Runners to the king’s palace.” Alternatively, the Gate of the Runners was one of the gates of the king’s palace.—Targum
